"Mm," Shinji answers, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. The person (Kaworu Nagisa) here for the thing (being his roommate).

Wait.

Soon, Shinji bristles and lunges for his phone. “I’m so sorry,” he mumbles. While fae hadn’t been told anything, Shinji’d been told just enough to be ready for the arrival of the precious Nagisa. He’s certain he’d even set an early alarm! Through the menus, he finds it to double check. As his luck, he’d set it to PM instead of AM. Good going, Shinji.

He crawls out of his blanket tunnel and does his best to straighten out his bedhead. It’s a bit late to try to look respectable, and it isn’t as though Kaworu would never have seen this side of him, anyway. Still, he feels like he should try. He climbs out of bed and nervously offers his right hand. “Shinji…Shinji Ikari… Sorry. I meant to be ready for you…” Sheepish smile takes his face.

It almost vaguely…peculiar, the way in which the boy fusses and scrambles about to meet faer acquaintance. Not to say that others haven’t performed above and beyond in the presence of the young heir, and yet there is something in the fluster upon his rounded features, scrunched button nose, that charms faer. Shinji Ikari, hm? Something in the name seems familiar, but what does not, in a school of this standing? So the thought is brushed over, tossed over the shoulder and forgotten.

“Do not fret, I did not expect you in the first place. I myself should have been better prepared.”

Remembering the luggage parked at faer feet, the student bends to undo the fastenings and withdraw articles of clothing, folding and placing them on the designated shelves for faer side of the room. Beside the obvious uniform, fae had purchased various t-shirts, undergarments, and those for sleeping. Once completed, it takes up a tidy little corner of the dresser, with plenty of room to spare. Only toiletries remain in the bag, and fae opts to store those at a later time. A tousled-topped head turns to face the boy. “We’d best hurry to breakfast, hm? Not that we are late. Indeed, we may very well be early…”
